What the numbers mean

UCAS's provider figures count applications made through its main scheme, not Clearing, and every offer made on them. Counts are rounded to the nearest 5. Glasgow received 37,925 applications from 33,075 applicants in 2025, because some applicants apply to more than one Glasgow course.

Where you apply from changes the picture. Applicants from outside the UK received offers on 80.3% of applications in 2025, and those from England on 72.2%, while applicants living in Scotland, who send by far the most applications, received offers on 62.7%.

Professional subjects are much more selective than the average. In UCAS's broad subject groups, Medicine and dentistry made offers on 30.5% of applications, Veterinary sciences on 31.6% and Education and teaching on 35.2%. UCAS does not break these figures down to individual Glasgow degrees.
